Amnesty International delegates adopted a resolution to recommend decriminalization of sex work and encouraged governments “to ensure that sex workers enjoy full and equal legal protection from exploitation, trafficking and violence.”
Uninformed celebrities voiced their opposition but Amnesty remained steadfast.
We don’t know all of those people but in the U.S. Carol Leigh was one of the first to boldly speak about decriminalization. Decades ago, it was impossible to imagine a day that decriminalization would be mainstream. But the day came: August 11, 2015 in Dublin.
Thank you to everyone who made this happen!
